Overview
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing Problems: Using diagnostic tools and their knowledge to identify the root cause of vehicle malfunctions.
- Performing Repairs: Fixing or replacing faulty parts and components using hand and power tools.
- Routine Maintenance: Conducting tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, and other scheduled maintenance.
- Vehicle Inspections: Thoroughly examining vehicles to assess their overall condition and identify potential issues.
- Parts Replacement: Removing and replacing damaged or worn parts with new or refurbished ones.
- Testing and Adjusting: Diagnosing and ensuring that repaired systems meet performance specifications.
- Maintaining a Clean and Safe Workplace: Keeping the work area organized, clean, and free of hazards.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and computer systems in vehicles.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and solve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicating with customers and colleagues.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to ensure all repairs are completed accurately.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions.
- Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with other technicians and service advisors.
- Valid Driver's License: Must have reliable transportation and clean driving record.
- ASE Certifications: State of Michigan or ASE certified in multiple repair categories including but not limited to Electrical, engine repair and front end suspension.
- Chrysler Mechanic preferred.
- Phase/level 3 preferred, will accept level 2.
- Paid training.
- Aggressive bonus plans offer based on experience, phase completed and training certificates obtained.
- Pay dependent on experience.
