Department: Collision / Body Shop
Reports To: Body Shop Manager
Location: Warren, MI
Job Summary:
- Inspect damaged vehicles to assess repair needs and write detailed damage estimates using estimating software
- Communicate with customers to explain repair processes, timelines, and cost estimates.
- Submit and negotiate estimates with insurance adjusters to obtain approvals.
- Order and track parts in coordination with the parts department.
- Keep customers updated on repair status and any changes to the timeline or cost.
- Review final repairs to ensure quality and accuracy before customer delivery.
- Maintain organized repair files, including photos, notes, and documentation.
- Assist with scheduling repairs and managing shop workload.
- Ensure compliance with OEM repair procedures and shop safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining CSI scores and return business.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in automotive repair or estimating preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in estimating or collision repair.
- Proficiency in estimating software .
- Familiarity with DRP (Direct Repair Program) guidelines and insurance processes.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Full-time, Monday–Friday.
- Shop/office environment; some time spent inspecting vehicles in various weather conditions.
- May require standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
